Infosys Takes Legal Action Against Cognizant for Market Manipulation!”

Infosys has recently filed a lawsuit against Cognizant Technology Solutions in a U.S. district court, accusing the company of leveraging its monopoly power to stifle competition in the healthcare software market through its TriZetto Software Group platform. Infosys alleges that Cognizant engaged in anti-competitive practices, including inflating prices by limiting output and suppressing competition.

This legal action follows a series of disputes between the two IT firms. In August 2024, Cognizant’s subsidiary, TriZetto, filed a lawsuit against Infosys, accusing it of misappropriating trade secrets related to healthcare insurance software. Infosys responded in January 2025 with a counterclaim, alleging that Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S—who previously served as President at Infosys—delayed the launch of Infosys’s Helix platform and hired key Infosys executives after joining Cognizant. Infosys Accuses IT Giant of Anti-Competitive Practices!”

In its latest filing, Infosys contends that Cognizant employed restrictive non-disclosure agreements and withheld essential training for its software products, QNXT and Facets, to maintain its market dominance. Infosys is seeking a jury trial, triple damages, and reimbursement of legal costs.

Cognizant has previously dismissed Infosys’s allegations as “preposterous” and maintains that its business practices adhere to legal standards.

This ongoing legal battle underscores the intense competition in the IT services industry, particularly within the healthcare software sector.
